That intrigued him so much that he willingly took the job. He did not know that Carlos had been in the little pub on Paris-3. A least the universe was rid of those riffraff.
Myron took the helm consol and checked the computer monitor. Everything was as Lt. Cooper said. Only twenty-four hours until they reached the destination.
He placed the ship on autopilot, and went to the elevator. Taking it to the second floor he went to his room. His cabin boy, Juniper, sat there on her bed reading from her mp3 hand held monitor.
“I didn’t know you could read.” Myron said as he stooped down to pull his footlocker from under his bed.
Juniper answered, “There is a lot of things you do not know about me.”
He quickly changed the subject. “What are you reading?”
“A classic, Irene’s baby.”
“I had to read that in school. It was naive to think that we would be replacing body parts with babies.” Myron stated as gather shampoo, a couple of towels and a change of clothing.
Noticing this Juniper asked, “You are not going to just do a quick clean up?”
“This ship is fitted with a shower facility.”
“Okay, sorry, forgot.” She picked up her small hand held screen and started reading again. “I didn’t think a pirate went to school.”
