The main deck of the sand glider was a mess.  After the lion attack, there were feathers and blood everywhere.  Dena got the job of swabbing it.  Danulf thought it was funny.  He proclaimed, “A captain can’t get his hands dirty.”

Dena huffed for a moment then went to do the task.  She was bored on the ship, so working on cleaning was something to do. Grisum glided up to her great-granddaughter.  She watched the girl on her hands and knees scrubbing the remains of the fight from the deck.  Her features pulled back into a gross smile.  “I am happy to see one of my relatives liking work.”

“I am your only relative left.” Dena said, unemotionally.

“How did that happen?” The Lich growled.

“I thought I told you, remember Lord Byrum had all the people with your name slaughtered.”

“My memory must be faulty.  I have been obsessed with revenge, that I must have not listened to you when you told me.”

Dena sighed getting up to her knees. “I might not have told you. Does it matter now? I got my revenge on him, he is gone.  I have to pick my life up now and figure out what to do next.”

Grisum again smiled, “You will have to give me more grand-children.”

“Scary thought.” Dena replied.
