Traveling south, Garrick started explaining where they were going, his tales of the north entertained the group. ”The further south you go it will be cold. Before you get to the great mountains the ground under foot will get squishy, and sometimes your feet will break through the tundra.” He paused, “It is the most beautiful place in our world. The mountains are blue with white caps in the winter. The stone glows pink against the blue.”
Danulf asked, “What kind of mineral is that?”
Grisum smiled, “Alcurian, you should know, that mineral is clalix, a rare stone for skrying.”
“The art of seeing the future, or the ability to walk with yourself. That never interesting me.” Danulf admitted.
Mindy interrupted, “How will my butterfly survive in the cold.”
“You could stay behind.” Dena suggested.
“Bitter much,” The lich Grisum asked.
“No,” Dena stated, “Just protecting who we care about should be the priority.”
Danulf said a few words over the butterfly, “It should stay warm for a week now.”
“Thank you,” Mindy stated.
