Avatar

December 18th, 2009

Not getting much sleep last night was worth it. I got to go to the midnight showing of Avatar, and I was entertained.  I had never seen a 3-d movie.  I know other films recently came out in that format, but I just was not interested.  I am so glad this was my first 3-d experience.

This movie is for all ages.  James Cameron and cast did a fantastic job.  The graphics are the best I have ever seen and it was smooth between live action scenes and the animation.

I don’t want to give away the movie because it is worth the ticket.  You will be entertained. And that is what going to the movies is all about. I love science fantasy fiction.  This movie is one of those.

Good movie.

The Princess and the frog

December 11th, 2009

Home run, Must see!  I had to go twice.  I loved it.

I have not gone to the movies in a long while, nor did I have time to watch DVD’s. So this was a special day for me.

This movie has everything a Disney movie should have, adventure, romance, and humor. Princess Tiana saved her prince, which is a rare wonderful theme.

The animation was good.  And story will make you cry at the end.

Good movie.

A review today!

I am going to see princess and the frog today!  I will come back and post a review!

Wolverine

October 8th, 2009

This movie came out this year, I watched it and enjoyed it.  This X-men movie had Huge Jackman in it.  He portrayed Wolverine.

The filming was done well it was a good story line. There is not much more to say about this movie.

This movie is on-demand right now.  I think it is a good movie.

Hannah Montana: The Movie

October 7th, 2009

Cute, good for one watch.  I was entertained, that is about it.  This Disney merchandising movie was what it is, a way to sell music and the star Miley Cyrus.

The story is about a girl who has a parent that wants her to decide if the Hannah Montana lifestle is worth having.  Okay, simple.  There were no twists and turns, very little plot.

As I said it was entertaining.  It is going to get a so-so rating.  The only thing I will say is that I am looking forward to more Miley music, the girl can sing.

The Future of Food

September 21st, 2009

Being a mom, I have to find interesting things to watch during the day that I can stop.  I found this on hulu.com

Everybody needs to find out where the food they eat is coming from.  Yes, the documentary is biased, but what isn’t these days.  The Patents on seed concerns me.

Watching as a reviewer, I think this was worth watching once.  I probably would not watch this one again.  So I am giving it a rating of so-so.

I will find other things to review tomorrow, my little ones need me again.

The Future OF Food

all dogs go to heaven

September 17th, 2009

Well, I worked during this cartoon.  And it is entertaining to the under three set of people here at home but for me, dull.  This is on COMCAST free movies.

This movie about Charlie a bad dog gone good is heart warming and cute.  The animation is very well done.

The voice acting again was well done.  I just find the story dull.

If you want a movie for the under three people in your home, watch this gem. For me it is a bad movie.

Dirty Dancing

September 16th, 2009

Dirty Dancing is a picture of a girl coming into her own in the 1960’s.  It is a good movie that I watched today.

I watch this one a lot. It is one of my all time favorites.  Patrick Swayze died yesterday, and he is the reason why I like the film so much.

The movie came out when I was a girl.  I wanted to dance like Jennifer Grey, and find the partner that would teach me how.  Patrick Swayze was handsome and a young girls fantasy man.  He did a great job making you believe in the character he was playing.

The music in Dirty Dancing makes you want to dance.  The story is heart warming.

Watch this movie sometime this week, and enjoy.  It is a good movie.

Okay Mom of four

September 14th, 2009

This is the title for this blog.  I am a mom of four.  Stay at home mom.  I started tomekeeper.com to have a little extra income.  I came up with this movie review site when it was on blog spot.

I have to play with my schedule because I just have too.  Thank you for staying with me.

I love movies.  I like what I like, and don’t like are clear cut to me. So far this year I have seen some so-so movies and really bad.

I will be watching something this afternoon. From my dvd collection.  Thank you for being a reader.

The Worlds Greatest Dad

September 11th, 2009

This gem was written by Bobcat Goldthwait.  I start out with the writer because this was the most profoundly brilliant movie.  Okay enough pretention off to the review.

Yes, I enjoyed this.  The pacing was great, I don’t like slow movies.  Robin Williams plays a teacher and writer.  You can see why this man got into Juilliard, the control of his facial muscles to emote is difficult to do but Robin William did that. This movie stretch that skill to the limit.

Being a parent myself, I watched this one with my teen son.  Yes, the teen in the beginning was offensive and dad was a jerk. But the story was woven where you came to care for both characters.  I don’t recommend watching this one with anybody under the age of fifteen.

It is currently on Comcast on-demand.  If you want a picture that makes you feel this one will.  Great job to all the actors, the director, the producers, and especially the brilliant writer.

Good movie.
