Toughest job on the planet

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

Posted by mbruen April 14, 2010.

Just finished watching President Obama’s speech. The man has the toughest job in the world. His speech was to help with the continuation of the NASA space program. It was a good speech.

This must be a tough week for him. He looks tired. Because of his job, he has to be there 24 hours seven days a week. Available for anything. We american citizens must remember this, maybe a president could be allowed time for a power nap.

2032 is not that far away. His plans for it are the right ones. I hope to find more on the internet in the future about these programs, and results.

Asteriod and Missles.

I thought is was interesting that NASA shot a missle at the moon.  They did discover water.  What was hidden was the larger picture, and here it is…

Russia May Send Space Craft to Knock Away Asteriod That Could Hit the Earth

Sometimes looking in the window that is the internet, I am searching for a larger picture.  Sometimes that is hidden until someone posts.

The Asteriod might hit the earth it might not.  The fact the scientists are out there thinking about trying to divert an asteriod makes me proud to be human.  The fact that we can come up with solutions to complex problems is tremendous. I hope they succeed.

I am going to focus more on science here in my own home.  I did that sorta for my oldest son, and he is very good at building things and math.  I am hoping he finds a job that suits that talent, he is thinking military.

My youngest children have not shown what talents they have, but a science back ground is a great start.  I know encouraging other parents to turn the education focus to a more science based curriculum, that might not happen.

What does this have to do with the asteriod?  It has made me think that the education of my children is of the utmost importance.  Thank you Russian and NASA scientists, with out your tech we would not be living in the world we have today, nor would I be typing on my own web-site.

Can’t go in Space

After reading this article, I wonder if government can run a space operation.

Space station toilet breaks down

There is a toilet on the Russian side, or use bags until plans can be made to repair the broken toilet.

Again parts and repairs are needed, and here is the kicker, it is from the cheapest bidder.  Maybe we should pay a bit more to get better quality parts, and put skill people to work, to collect those taxes to get the better parts.

I am in a parts mood today.  Maybe I will look at health care in other countries tomorrow.

UPDATE: According to the New York Times the Toilet is fixed.  Find it here:
