Asteriod and Missles.
Thursday, December 31st, 2009I thought is was interesting that NASA shot a missle at the moon. They did discover water. What was hidden was the larger picture, and here it is…
Russia May Send Space Craft to Knock Away Asteriod That Could Hit the Earth
Sometimes looking in the window that is the internet, I am searching for a larger picture. Sometimes that is hidden until someone posts.
The Asteriod might hit the earth it might not. The fact the scientists are out there thinking about trying to divert an asteriod makes me proud to be human. The fact that we can come up with solutions to complex problems is tremendous. I hope they succeed.
I am going to focus more on science here in my own home. I did that sorta for my oldest son, and he is very good at building things and math. I am hoping he finds a job that suits that talent, he is thinking military.
My youngest children have not shown what talents they have, but a science back ground is a great start. I know encouraging other parents to turn the education focus to a more science based curriculum, that might not happen.
What does this have to do with the asteriod? It has made me think that the education of my children is of the utmost importance. Thank you Russian and NASA scientists, with out your tech we would not be living in the world we have today, nor would I be typing on my own web-site.

Good news in Chile
Friday, December 18th, 2009According to the article below, people in Chile have lessened the house hold debt by 4%. Read it here:
If Chile can do this, we can here in the USA.
During the holiday season we are encouraged to spend and spend, personal savings is something that is ignored, and if you spend into debt all the better.
Reading the above article gives hope. That 4% debt reduction can lead to savings, and savings leads to investing. I think that leads to economic growth.
Good job Chile!
Wii Fit- a fantastic gift choice
Friday, December 11th, 2009This product endorsement will do nothing for me. I am doing this because it is a damn good tool for people struggling to keep track of fitness. Like me.
I have been struggling with my weight all my life. I even became a vegetarian last year because of my child’s allergies, which an allergist found were not so bad. I lost some weight and gained more energy.
This summer I fell off of the wagon and ate meat for a few months, I gained weight. I decided meat is just not something for me, so I went back to what was working.
Now add the wii fit. I got it a month and a half ago, and I have lost 10 lbs. This is recorded on my wii! I love the graphing of the weight loss, the goals that I set can be seen, and I can personalize how many calories I want to burn.
I have a treadmill, I have a personal gym, I saw results as definition with those, but with the wii fit, I see a graph and weight gains or loss. I know numbers should not matter, that inches matter. I am a fat woman who still wears a size 18, but weighs over 250lbs! Those LBS are what I want to loose not the dress sizes. I know the dress size matters too, but I only need to loose 3 to get to my high school figure.
Buying the wii fit was a good investment. I will hope to loose the 4 lbs goal by the 25th. Wish me luck!
